The Force is strong in Graeme Neil Reid’s January Art Raffle!

Star Wars: A New Hope - art by Graeme Neil Reid

Doctor Who and 2000AD artist Graeme Neil Reid‘s first Art Raffle of 2018 is live and there is a brother and sister (spoilers) to choose between in this Star Wars: A New Hope themed month.

Graeme is a Scottish artist who now works primarily in traditional mediums of watercolour and acrylic. His work has graced many different areas including books (The Dangerous Book of Heroes), television (World’s Strongest Man), gaming (Need for Speed), magazines (Radio Times), comics (2000AD and Judge Dredd), online and apps (Doctor Who).

On offer this month – Life can be pretty boring living on a moisture farm with your Aunt and Uncle on the planet of Tatooine with only dreams of joining the Academy as a pilot of goofing off with his friends at Tosche Station to keep you sane. But everything changes when a couple of droids turn up looking for Old Ben Kenobi. Suddenly the Rebellion and their fight against the Empire intrude violently into Luke’s life and with it the power of The Force.

You can watch Graeme paint this watercolour painting of Luke Skywalker over on his YouTube Channel here.

Life is never dull when you are a spy for the Rebel Alliance and just happen to be a member of the Imperial Senate and a Princess of Alderaan. In a desperate attempt to deliver stolen plans of the Death Star, the evil Empires latest weapon of mass destruction, to the Rebel Alliance the Princess is forced to trust droid R2-D2 to deliver the plans safely and acquire the help of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi.

You can watch Graeme paint this watercolour painting of Princess Leia over on his YouTube Channel here.

Both paintings were painted on Arches Cold Pressed 300gsm watercolour paper at A6 (15cm x 10.5cm) size.

Entering couldn’t be easier, by pledging just $1 a month on Graeme’s Patreon site you get entered into the Art Raffle plus rewards including Work in Progress posts, Art Club with first chance to buy his art, postcards, PDF sketchbook, supporters portraits and a discount at his Etsy Store. You can read more information about the raffle and see all the previous winners and prizes over at his blog.

The competition will run until midnight (GMT) of the 31st January 2018, and the winner will be notified shortly afterwards. The winner will get to choose one of the two paintings as their prize and the other painting will be available to buy, first to Graeme’s Patreon supporters with an added discount and then in his Esty shop
