For the second seminar in the ‘Sketching/Scripting Women’ series, the Centre for the Study of Contemporary Women’s Writing and University of London Institute in Paris are hosting a seminar with artist Johanna Schipper later this month.
A graphic novel artist and translator, Schipper (winner of the first ‘Artemisia Prize for Women’s Francophone Graphic Novels’ for her work Nos âmes sauvages (2008), will speak about her career as a graphic novel creator and the changing status of women’s artistic production within the medium.
The event forms part of the University of London’s year-long celebrations, Leading Women, marking 150 years since the first female students were admitted into higher education in the UK.
