There’s only a week to go until London Film & Comic Con – at Olympia across Friday 27th, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th of July – and along with a host of top Media guests, comics definitely aren’t being forgotten, with two very special The Vigilant posters on offer from writer Simon Furman just one thing to look out for.

As we previously reported, The Vigilant – on sale in newsagents and comic shops from 15th August 2018 is a special one-shot title from 2000AD publisher Rebellion, which resurrects classic heroes from the Fleetway comics of the 1970s – reborn and updated for a new generation to enjoy.

Written by Simon Furman (Transformers) with art by Simon Coleby (Jaegir, Judge Dredd for 2000AD) coloured by Len O’Grady, lettered by Simon Bowland, with more strips by other guest creators, when the evil forces of Von Hoffman and Dr Mesmer team up and pluck the immortal Adam Eterno from the winds of time, all of reality is under threat!

Only The Vigilant – a mighty team composed of super-beings, warlocks, warriors and monsters – stand between civilisation and total chaos! Join The Leopard from Lime Street, Steel Commando, Doctor Sin, Pete’s Pocket Army, Blake Edmonds, Yāo and Thunderbolt the Avenger on their premiere adventure!

Thanks to the kind people at Rebellion, Simon will have exclusive The Vigilant A3 posters to give away, free, gratis, both featured here.

“This will be strictly one (of each) per attendee on a first come, first served basis,” says Simon, “and I’ll have a certain allocation for each day. Thanks to Keith Richardson at Rebellion and, of course, Simon Coleby for the stunning art.”

Simon is on two panels at LFCC Panels-wise, on Saturday at 10.00am, he’ll be talking about his other favourite subject (after The Vigilant) – Transformers, alongside the likes of artist Geoff Senior, John-Paul Bove and Liam Shalloo. Then, on Sunday at 11.00, he’ll be talking about writing in other mediums with fellow panellists Dan Slott, Andrew Cartmel and more.

“It’s going to be a packed few days,” Simon enthuses, “so swing by and chat about all things The Vigilant, Transformers and Robotech!”

• You can find Simon Furman in the Comic Zone on Table 44, alongside Geoff Senior (so just think what you can get co-signed). Simon will be there all three days (from 12 noon on the Friday) signing, chatting and he’ll have stuff to sell.

You can pre-order The Vigilant direct from Rebellion here
