Book Palace Books have announced three different versions of the upcoming picto-memoir, “It’s About Time: A Memoir in Pictures and Words” by Brian Bolland, due for release in Spring 2023, a release preceded by two other releases featuring the artist’s work from Get My Comics, under their SHIFT banner.

With a foreword and Introduction by Johnny Vegas and Dave Harwood, the new book will offer “an epic journey through the life and art of Brian Bolland”, presenting a visual journal of his development as an artist, writer and observer of the world around him.
Through the course of the 336 pages that this volume comprises, Brian takes us through his family history, his friendships, the comics he was reading, the bands he was listening to – in essence, a potpourri of the many influences that shaped his development as one of the most outstanding artists of his generation.
The new book follows the release of the latest issue of SHIFT in newsagents, on sale from 28th September, which features the latest in his series of “The Actress and the Bishop”, in gorgeous full colour, as previously reported.

Also on its way, in October, is a SHIFT Presents collection of all Brian Bolland’s previous “The Actress and the Bishop” material, produced in conjunction with the artist. As we also previously reported, this edition features all of Brian’s “The Actress and the Bishop”, each presented in glorious black and white and in the large, SHIFT format, so you can appreciate every detail of Brian’s masterful linework.
Better yet, this edition also includes pin ups, covers, an interview and two previously unpublished prose stories with new spot illustrations from Brian.

I hope that isn’t the final cover art.
That really can’t be the final cover art can it?
