A Twitter exchange between Dublin artist Nick Roche and writer Chad Bowers alerted me to a Death’s Head appearance some Marvel UK fans may have missed.
Nick posted this great image of Deadpool and Death’s Head by him and Transformers colourist Josh, one of a number of fabulous spec covers yet to be published, prompting Chad to highlight Death’s Head’s appearance in his book, X-Men ’92.
Launched last year, X-Men ’92 continues from the hit Secret Wars series starring the X-Men of a more EXTREME decade. With Cassandra Nova defeated, the X-Men have taken in all the young mutants she had rounded up and are officially reopening the Xavier School for Gifted Children… but being responsible won’t stop them from having crazy adventures!
Written by Chris Sims and Chad Bowers, with art by Alti Firmansyah, Death’s Head features in Issues 6-10, due for trade release next month.
The robot bounty hunter first brought to life at Marvel UK even featured on the cover of X-Men ’92 #6, drawn by David Nakayama.
In the story, the X-Men are working security at Lilapalooza – Westchester’s biggest festival. But just because they’re security, doesn’t mean they stop being targets…
Guest stars include The Flaming Lips, Toadies, Lila Cheney – and Death’s Head, of course, who even gets to drop in a nifty nod to his origins as a foil for Marvel UK’s Transformers comic.
• X-Men ’92 Volume 1: The World is a Vampire was released last October; X-Men ’92 Vol. 2: Lilapalooza will be published on 2nd May 2017
