Gosh London will be hosting a launch party and signing for the picture book Alphonse, That is Not OK To Do! with Daisy Hirst on Wednesday 20th April 2016, starting at 7.00pm.
Daisy Hirst is a children’s book author, illustrator and poet, whose previous work The Girl With The Parrot on her Head, a beautiful story about a young girl dealing with moving and having to make new friends. It was released in paperback in January.
In her second book, Natalie mostly loves her little brother Alphonse being there – they name the pigeons, bounce things off the bunk beds, have stories in the chair and make lots of fun stuff together.
But, when Natalie catches Alphonse eating her most favourite book, well …that is not OK!
Daisy also draws comics: she recently worked on some jam comics with Becky Palmer. Her comic Lesley and Marvin and the Llamas de Muerte appeared in the first issue of LOAf (about fears); Bats to the Future followed in Issue 2 (friends).
LOAf (“Thick-sliced comics for big kids and little adults”) is for sale online at Etsy and at shops in London, Cambridge, Bristol, Paris and elsewhere. (More info here)
