Are you ready for Ghostbusters Afterlife?

We’re getting ready for Ghostbusters: Afterlife at downthetubes, opening this weekend – especially after a tease in the final trailer that some of the stars of the original films will return.

Ghostbusters Afterlife (2021) Poster

An earlier trailer confirmed that Dan Aykroyd would be making a cameo at the least, when he answers the phone at Ray’s Occult shop. But the final trailer – which remixes footage we’ve seen in other trailers and promotional videos – confirms that Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Ernie Hudson are back in action.

(Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts were, of course, also in the 2016 female-led Ghostbusters film, albeit as different characters).

In the new film, when a single mother and her two children move to a new town, they soon discover they have a connection to the original Ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind…

Egon’s grandchildren are in the thick of the situation, and who are they going to call? The trailer ends with the definition of a teaser shot, when the original Ghostbusters show up to save the day.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife opens this week, going wide on Friday 19th November 2021. Finn Wolfhard and Mckenna Grace are starring as Egon’s grandchildren. The cast also includes Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, and Bokeem Woodbine.

As one of the team who worked on The Real Ghostbusters comic for Marvel UK some years ago now, I am so looking forward to this!
