This weekend sees the the 38th annual Bd BOUM – Maison de la bd Festival this weekend in Blois, France and comics author Paul Gravett kindly drew our attention to the event’s poster, drawn by Posy Simmonds.

Posy, the winner of this year’s Grand Boum-Ville de Blois, is a special guest at the long-established event, and her artworks feature in an exhibition adapted from her six-gallery retrospective, which Anette Gehrig and Paul co-curated at the Cartoonmuseum Basel this summer.
Other exhibitions include “Zoo Monsters” by Stan Manoukian and “Black is black”, by Philippe Foerster.
“And yes, we’re expecting fireworks!” Paul, who will also be there, enthuses. So light the blue touch paper…
Keep an eye on Paul’s official site www.paulgravett.com for photos and reports to follow after the Festival.
