Wicked Comics have announced another wave of guests for Malta Comic Con 2018 next month, who work either with independent publishers or with renowned publishing houses from around the world, including the Beano‘s “Minnie the Minx” artist Laura Howell.
Laura should need no introduction to most downthetubes readers. In 2006, she became the first female artist to draw for the Beano, which she still contributes to every week, recently becoming the regular artist on “Minnie the Minx”. She has also worked on VIZ, The DFC, MAD magazine and popular media titles such as Angry Birds and Cartoon Network’s Regular Show and Uncle Grandpa.
Her first Regular Show graphic novel, Wrasslesplosion, was published by BOOM Studios in 2017 and her second, The Meatening, earlier this year. Her own extremely silly comic strip and utterly brilliant The Bizarre Adventures of Gilbert & Sullivan is available in book form from Soaring Penguin Press.
Other international guests just announced for the hugely-popular event include Claudia Ianniciello, Iella, Massimo Rosi, Midori Harada and Niko Henrichon.
The Malta Comic Con is also a platform for local talent, with Shaun McAlister, Samwel Borg, William Calleja, Tony Catania, Stefan Ciantar, Sabrina Mizzi, Roderick Pace, Ryan Zammit Pawley, Teodor Reljic, Vincianne Scerri, Violetta Toncheva and Victoria Melita Zammit also now announced as guests.
Phase 1 tickets that were launched earlier this month and were available for sale online and at various retailers around the Maltese isles were sold out within days, another great hit for the Malta Comic Con 2018. Phase 2 tickets are now available – details below.
