Best of British remembers Scream!

Alongside a tribute to Ray Brooks, the actor perhaps best known as the voice of the animated icon Mr. Benn, and many other nostalgia-driven features, the latest issue of Best of British looks back at the short lived weekly horror comic, Scream!

Ian Wheeler looks back at the title that is enjoying new life today thanks to 2000AD publisher Rebellion, exploring its origins with input from editor Barrie Tomlinson, and looks at why the title was brought to an abrupt end.

Every issue of Best of British magazine is packed with features that celebrate classic entertainment, transport, food and drink, and the great British countryside.

Available from TG Jones on the high street, and on subscription, this issue also celebrates 70 years of BBC Radio 2’s Pick of the Pops, brings us the story of the Royal Train, and more.

Best of British readers are at the heart of this title. As well as taking their suggestions on board, their voices are heard through the Yesterday Remembered memoir section, along with the Postbag and Question Time pages.
