Two great events; one weekend; one ticket! Visit the MCM Birmingham Comic Con at the NEC on 22-23 March and you’ll also get entry to Britain’s biggest collectors’ event, Memorabilia Birmingham. If you’re into movies, sci-fi, videogames, comics, cosplay or collectables, they’ve got a great weekend in store for you.

Moving to Hall 4, this March’s MCM Birmingham Comic Con promises to be a pop. culture fest. of epic proportions, giving visitors the chance to meet our great special guests; play the hottest games; explore a Comic Village jam-packed with talented creators; enjoy the onstage panels; chill out in our retro gaming zone; watch the battling ‘bots of Robots Live and even strut their stuff in the Cosplay Masquerade.

Meanwhile, Birmingham Comic Con’s sister show, Memorabilia Birmingham, will be a treasure trove for collectors and autograph hunters alike, featuring a brilliant line-up of film and movie talent, not to mention an awesome array of stands selling everything from rare and imported collectables to toys for the kids.

Last November’s show, which saw a record-breaking 26,500 attendees, welcomed a galaxy of stars from popular science fiction and fantasy series such as Doctor Who; Haven; Game Of Thrones; Star Wars; Stargate; Primeval and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, as well as cool cast reunions for Quadrophenia, Red Dwarf and The Rocky Horror Picture Show; a host of horror movie stars; a bubbly cocktail of Bond actors and cast from classic British comedies, past and present. The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Star Trek Explorer (previously known as Star Trek Magazine) and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War and “Dan Dare”. He’s the writer of "Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies" for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
