Cambridge plays host to an event with 2000AD and DC Comics artist Brian Bolland next month, organised by CamCreatives, just as his new book, IT’S ABOUT TIME: A Memoir in Pictures and Words, is to be published by Book Palace Books.
Brian Bolland is probably best known for being the artist on Batman: The Killing Joke, written by Alan Moore, and for his work in Judge Dredd in 2000AD which marks Brian out as one of the definitive Judge Dredd artists for The Galaxy’s Greatest Comic.
He was part of the ‘British Invasion’ of the American comics industry, and in 1982 as an artist and joint storyteller, he produced a 12-series limited edition of Camelot 3000, and more recently, has been working on his own creations such as The Actress and the Bishop, released in a special edition last year by GetMyComics.

His latest book, IT’S ABOUT TIME: A Memoir in Pictures and Words, to be published by Book Palace Books and available to preorder now, is a visual journal of Brian’s development as an artist, writer and observer of the world around him.
Through the course of the 336 pages that this volume comprises, the artist takes us through his family history, his friendships, the comics he was reading, the bands he was listening to –in essence a potpourri of the many influences that shaped his development as one of the most outstanding artists of his generation.

Brian remains in high demand as a cover artist, producing the vast majority of his work for DC Comics. From Batman and Wonder Woman to Animal Man and The Invisibles, Brian Bolland is one of the most outstanding British cartoonists of his generation, leaving many in awe of his work.
