The October 2021 issue of Britain at War Magazine celebrates 60 years of Commando comic, with a free double-sided poster and much more.

On sale in newsagents and other outlets, best-selling military history title, Britain at War Magazine, sister title to the air magazine, Fly Past, is dedicated to exploring every aspect of the involvement of Britain and the Commonwealth in conflicts from the turn of the 20th century through to the present day. Offering at least 116 pages in every issue, Britain at War prides itself on well-researched and eye-catchingly designed historical content, aiming to provide new and fresh perspectives on Britain’s wars.
Alongside articles on U-Boats, a forgotten tank regiment, and a prince who begged to fight… and why he never could, and more, Issue 174 features an article on the comic itself, in “Commando Marches On”. Plus, “Commando Debrief”, which goes behind the scenes on the title, talking to the editorial team, and “Commando Extraordinaire”, in which the Commando team select their six favourite stories.

Whether you’re simply a fan of the comic, or interested in knowing how the comic is put together and the creative process behind the stories commissioned, the articles offer a great insight into the long-running war comic. And which Commando fan wouldn’t want a poster featuring a great selection of four covers, including Ian Kennedy’s recent take on the first issue story “Walk – or Die!”, featured on Issue 5444 earlier this year?
