Next Saturday sees the return of the British Weekly Comics Swap Meet, organised by members of the Commando and British Weekly Comics – Collectors, Buy, Sell and Swaps Page on Facebook, including Andy Yates. If you’ve not been to one of these before, the latest taking place in Bushey, Watford, don’t worry, you can buy comics, you don’t need to swap them!
This event “does what is says on the label”, notes downthetubes contributor Richard Sheaf. “This is not the place to come looking for piles of slabbed editions of Marvel or DC comics – instead the focus is squarely on British comics. The last event had thousands of issues of titles such as Commando, Starblazer, Football picture strip monthly and the like. These events really are the best place to get hold of comics like this.”
