Cannon Busters is a hugely-popular original IP created by LeSean Thomas (The Boondocks, Legend of Korra, Children of Ether) over ten years ago, based on the characters and story first published by Udon Comics/Devil’s Due in the comic of the same name in 2005.

Following a successful Kickstarter campaign by Thomas himself to produce a pilot episode in 2014, Cannon Busters has generated a dedicated cult following and the upcoming series will be launched in over 190 territories globally.

LeSean Thomas leads as Executive Producer, Creator and Series Director of the 12-part series, and the series animation produced entirely in Japan by LeSean and Satelight Inc., the Tokyo based studio behind such hits as Macross. It is one of the first anime series to be created and directed by a non-Japanese writer/animator and produced in Japan and in the Japanese language.

The series will be dubbed into international languages including English, German, Spanish, Italian and French along with multiple subtitled languages

“It is a privilege to be working on this great property,” commented Max Arguile of Reemsborko Ltd. “There is already strong interest – apparel is going into Hot Topic in time for launch and a sportswear range is coming too (those licensees will be announced soon).

“We are now at contract with a European statue licensee, a UK jigsaw company and a US pin badge Iicensee. It’s looking very good for Cannon Busters.”

“I am both humbled and excited about the opportunity to create something truly international in the growing, mainstream appeal of anime,” said LeSean Thomas. “Both Netflix and Manga Entertainment have been integral partners in my vision for a truly globalized approach to Japanese animation production and I am excited about what’s to come for fans of anime with this fun, new entry into the medium.”

Max Arguile, a former Senior Licensing executive at GB Eye, launched his specialist licensing consultancy Reemsborko last year to focus on emerging areas such as animé, video and mobile gaming. He’s aiming to fill a gap in the market for consultancy in new media and emerging areas such as animé, video and mobile gaming, along with specialised art and design brands.

Reemsborko offers a full consultancy service for licensees eager to work with different properties that will stand out on the shelves in the UK market. The new company will also advise on future trends.
