Coming Soon: PanelxPanel, a new digital comic anthology

PanelxPanel #1
PanelxPanel, launching later this month, is a brand new digital magazine celebrating the medium we love: comics. Edited by Strip Panel Naked host, Hass Otsmane-Elhaou, it will features a rotating set of writers ranging from critics to professionals, fans and comic stores.

Each issue has two halves. The first, a focus on a particular comic and featuring a series of essays, interviews, process pieces and an exclusive Strip Panel Naked column all focused around that comic.

The first issue covers Black Mask’s Beautiful Canvas, the creation of Ryan K. Lindsay, Sami Kivela and Triona Tree Farrell, released on the same day as PanelxPanel magazine -28th June 2017.

The second half features regular articles, with creator-on-creator interviews, craft essays, a short comic, and a series of comic recommendations from a range of comic-related voices.

For the regular features, professional letterer Aditya Bidikar (Motor Crush, Black Cloud) talks about lettering, and his favourite ending in comics. Ollie Masters (Sons of Anarchy, Snow Blind) interviews Rob Williams (Suicide Squad, Unfollow) about his process, and writing comics.

There’s also a short comic, and a whole host of recommendations from writers, artists, fans, critics and shops.

“Instead of reviews, we’re asking shops, critics, pro’s and fans to tell you about comics they’ve been loving recently, and why they loved ’em,” says Hass.

“This is a true celebration of the medium with every issue,”  he enthuses, “looking at all the elements that make comics an interesting art form and great place to tell visual stories.

“This is a magazine that cares about comics.”
