As part of 2000AD‘s and Judge Dredd’s 50th Anniversaries next year, Rebellion are launching a new range which collects the original run of Judge Dredd in a bumper 200-page compact format at a bargain price.
With a clear nod to the popular manga collection format that’s proven a sales success for several publishers, The Phoenix comic among them, Rebellion will begin publishing Judge Dredd: Compact Crimes, new 224-page black and white collections of Judge Dredd, priced just £9.99 ($12.99), in January 2027. A new volume will follow each month across 2027 and beyond.

As manga expert Paul Gravett notes, these black and white paperbacks in a 210×148mm (8¼ × 5⅞ in) size will sit on the same shelves and similar price in bookshops, right alongside many of the biggest manga hits and so may just grab manga fans’ attention.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine and Overkill for Marvel UK, Babylon 5 Magazine, Star Trek Magazine, and its successor, Star Trek Explorer, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics; and has edited several comic collections and graphic novels, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”, and Hancock: The Lad Himself, by Stephen Walsh and Keith Page.
He’s the writer of comics such as Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs”, with Dave Hailwood.
