Ian Cullen from the wonderful SciFiPulse.net has kindly given downthetubes permission to feature some of his photographs of the free Cosgrove Hall Films exhibition at Waterside, in Sale.
Waterside is a thriving and vibrant arts venue in the heart of Sale in Trafford – and the new home of the Cosgrove Hall Films archive, the company behind the likes of Danger Mouse and Count Duckula.
They’re celebrating with an exhibition featuring your favourite Cosgrove Hall characters, including Danger Mouse, Bill and Ben the Flower Pot Men, Noddy, and many more.
From paper to puppets, the exhibition tracks the development to the production of some of the most recognisable children’s animation of the last four decades.
Original models, puppets, storyboards and hand drawn animations are all on display, with the exhibition – supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund – offering a rare and nostalgic insight into some of the many delights from the Cosgrove Hall Films collection.
There are also behind-the-scenes insights into the creative processes that brought this array of beloved characters to the screen.
Comprising a theatre, art galleries, studios and workspaces, the Waterside centre is an important regional hub for both performance and visual art.
