Independent comic creator Dave Candlish is running a new Kickstarter for the latest issue of his strip-packed, long-running anthology comic, Paragon.
The latest issue again looks to be offering another enjoyable mix of stories featuring its entertaining character slate.
The anthology, which has previously featured creators who have gone on to work as professionals, including artist Tom Newell, now drawing for 2000AD, has already hits its modest funding target, with just under two weeks to run.
Issue 31 sees the climax of “Icarus Dangerous – Mynx Tale”, Part Four of the adventure by Dirk Van Dom and Scott Twells (previous episodes available in issues 27, 28 and 29 available as back issues, if you missed them). Time is against Mynx in this cover-featured adventure… Icarus is after her, but is Bonehead Dax the friend she thinks?
“Bludd & Xandi” featuring two celestial enforcers, sees James Grainger take over on art from Tom Newell, drawing the finale of Book One, written by Mark Howard.
Plus, Spencer Nero deals with the important issue of homelessness by brutalising a load of tramps in a tale written by creator Greg Meldrum and regular collaborator Scott Twells.
There’s more classic Bulldog, too, from Jason Cobley and artist Neill Cameron, who is of course a long-running regular for The Phoenix comic.
A no frills, honest to goodness British independent comics zine, do check out the latest issue of this 36-page black and white title, and keep up with the latest news about the title on its official blog.
