John A. Short and David Hitchcock, the team that created “Nosferatu II” in Shokwave, have launched a Kickstarter for a new folk-horror graphic novel, The Sisters Three.

At the height of the English Civil War, in the middle of British witch-hunt, an ancient evil stalks the small mist shrouded village of Gravesmoor. Out on the mire an unstoppable creature kills without mercy and then sucks marrow from the bones of the dead. Can no-one stand up to this unspeakable abomination?
Three women… cunning folk… healers… seerers… defenders… Themselves hunted by hostile unbending religious zealots and crooked coin-counters… Step forward!

The Sisters Three, described as “wonderful work” by artist Mike Collins, is a 44-page, self-contained dark tale of blood, death and horror, the creation of John A. Short, the writer behind Nosferatu II, Helga Frankenstein, Reverend Cross, Captain Wylde and Britannia Macabre, and David Hitchcock, the artist behind The Sixpenny Murder, Diabolica, Nosferatu II and Springheeled Jack.
“f you like a bit of gothic, Hammer Films and such like you won’t go far wrong with this. John has crafted another great tale that I thoroughly enjoyed drawing.
“The collaboration of John A. Short and David Hitchcock always brings something special,” enthuses early supporter Shane Chebsey, publisher at Scratch Comics.
Ace Rewards
“The Kickstarter features many great rewards,” John tells us, “especially if you are a fan of David’s artwork!” These include nine new original art rewards to choose from, each one a one-off.

If you haven’t yet checked out “Nosferatu II”, John and David’s sequel to 1922’s silent horror classic Nosferatu, running in Kult Creation’s Shokwave anthology, alongside comic stories with art by Adam Jakes, Chris Askham and Richard Pester, then you can get caught up with a massive ‘Sisters Three Digital Shok Set’ reward… Or, if you want the physical comics choose between three different sizes of reward… The first four issues? The first six issues? Or all eight issues so far? All on offer. Plus The Sisters Three, of course!
