UK publishers The77 Publications are celebrating another successful Kickstarter for the tenth issue of their anthology The77, the campaign closing 10th April. Be quick if you want to grab some exclusive tie-in rewards, which include signed scripts and sketches, original art by Ian Stopforth and Andrew Sawyers – and copies of Ian Gibson’s Lifeboat, and the indie publisher’s entire back catalogue, at great prices!
The success follows a busy 2023 for the publisher, which saw the released of twelve books, including Ian Gibson’s Lifeboat, John Wagner, Alan Grant and Robin Smith’s Bogie Man: The Incomplete Casefiles, Warfighter by Laurence Alison, two issues of This Comic is Haunted, The77 No.9 and The77 Annual No.2, BLAZER! 3, and reprints of The77 No.1 and 2, the Lawless Convention comic and Shift Presents: The77.

Don’t just take our word for it, though… The77 comic was recently awarded “UK Independent Comic 2024” by Comic Scene and continues the run which started in the first lockdown of spring 2020.
Growing with confidence with every issue, The77 Issue 10, which will be available to buy from the publisher’s official site in May, price £7.99, is another bumper 52-page issue.

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
