There’s still a few days left to back the second issue of This Comic is HAUNTED over on Kickstarter, a horror comic anthology from The77 Publications. The teasers online suggest it’s well worth a look.
Curated and edited by The77‘s Dave Heeley, the latest edition offers a main cover by Commando Comics cover artis Paul McCaffrey and a variant Lee Milmore and features stories written by Alan Hebden, David Thomas, John Short, Dave Heeley and Jo Heeley with art from Ian Stopforth, Andrew Richmond, Mark Marren, Lee Milmore, Paul McCaffrey and Ade Hughes.
The first issue was deservedly well received, a great mix of strips, and the second issue, seeking support here on Kickstarter, looks equally entertaining.
Includes in the lineup for this issue are:
• “Bones of Winter” part 2 by Mark Marren
• “Drummer from Hell” part 2 by Alan Hebden and Lee Milmore
• “The Lodger” part 2, by Jo Heeley and Ian Stopforth
• “The Only One” by Christopher Davidson and Ade Hughes
• “Van Helsing’s Tale – The Collector” by John A. Short, with art by Chris Askham, featuring Abraham Van Helsing (decades before Dracula)
• “Welcome to Grey Phantom’s Haunted History” by David Thomas and Andrew Richmond
Plus, there’s another “Short Sharp Shocks” in the mix from Lew Stringer, too, and a distinctly creepy back cover pin-up by Simon Hall.
We also get a sneak peek at “Ravenous” by Dave Heeley and Paul McCaffrey, making its debut in the form of a truly violent vampiric pin up before debuting in This Comic is HAUNTED #3 later this year.
Add on options include art cards by Simon Hall and Paul McCaffrey, and you can commission Lew Stringer to draw a zombie, vampire, werewolf or Frankenstein monster versions of his characters Sgt. Shouty, Combat Colin or Brickman.
The first issue offered an inventive mix of horror tales, and this second issue looks o be on a par with the debut issue. Go and give it your consideration.
