DeAgostini launches “Moomin” part work

Deagostini has launched its Moomin part work, a series that includes “Tales from Moominvalley”, reliving some of the most famous adventures of Moomintroll and his family, from the timeless stories by Tove Jansson.

DeAgostini “Moomin” part work (Moomin Chronicles)

Of course, the main attraction to subscribing to this monthly title is surely the opportunity to relive the adventures of the Moomins by building Moominhouse, step by step, and collecting figurines of Moomin, Moominpappa and Moominmamma, Snufkin, Little My and many more.

The Moomin House “easy to build” model, the home of the Moomins, some of the best-known storybook characters in the world, will be completed in 110 assembly stages (parts to build and magazines), enabling you to recreate the magical home of the Moomin family, created by the artist and writer Tove Jansson.

“Building the house is a great activity for all the family,” say DeAgostini. “Creating and decorating the Moominhouse will stimulate children’s imaginations and encourage them to find out more about the marvellous Moomin books.

“Many adorable characters are waiting for you with furniture and accessories and all the parts to build the house. You will get step-by-step instructions plus hints and tips for assembling the Moominhouse, plus stories from the magical world of the Moomins. The delightful figures are based closely on the famous illustrations in the books.”

The “Tales from Moominvalley” section is illustrated with pictures from the original books and comics. As well as figures and parts, the magazine also includes a step-by-step Assembly Guide, and a guide to Tove Jansson’s many wonderful characters.

As ever with part works, completing it won’t be cheap. downthetubes reader John Reppion calculates the monthly title will cost you around £1100 to complete, over a nine-year-plus monthly run… but I suspect it’s going to be popular nonetheless!
