Budding comic artists and cartoonists are being offered a free opportunity to learn a few top tips and create your own comic book from Beano artist Nick Brennan at the end of this month, as part of a huge number of events forming Cornwall’s Fal River Festival.

Nick, whose clients include the BBC, Oxford University Press and Falmouth Art Gallery has drawn for both the Beano and the much-misssed Dandy oer the past twenty years, including “Billy Whizz”, the fastest boy on earth.

All the workshops, which start from 30th May, jointly organised by Falmouth University and Falmouth Art Gallery, are free and take place at Falmouth Art Gallery, Municipal Building, The Moor, Falmouth TR11 2RT.

The 2014 Fal River Festival (www.falriver.co.uk/whats-on/fal-river-festival) runs from Friday, May 23rd to Sunday, June 1st. The 10 day festival is a not-for-profit community festival which encompasses over 150 events varying from music and drama, the arts & heritage to gig racing, swimming, walking and lots more. It was established in 2006 and will be running for its 9th year in 2014. It’s a chance to embrace the places, people, history, culture, sport & industry that are connected by this very Cornish river.
