Forbidden Planet Derby is hosting a special signing next month with an incredible lineup of comic creators involved in Liam Sharp’s StarHenge project, published by Image Comics.
Taking place Sunday 23rd August, from 3.00 – 5.00pm, it’s an opportunity to meet writer and DC Comics former Editor-in-Chief Dan DiDio, plus artists Mike Perkins, Barry Kitson, Liam Sharp, Matylda McCormack-Sharp, and legendary local tattooists Ben Stone and Henry John, the latter also singer/songwriter for Beggar’s Bliss, and, possibly, a couple more surprise last-minute special guests, too.

StarHenge is a cosmic epic in the making, set in the dark ages of Celtic Britain, contemporary America and the stars themselves, as writer/artist Liam Sharp weaves a saga for the ages with suitably stunning art to match.
A future Merlin travels to 5th-century Britain to prevent monstrous time-traveling killer robots from robbing the universe of magic, and Amber Weaver’s lively present-day narrative reveals how she becomes drawn into the war across time…
“It’s very exciting,” Starhenge creator Liam, who recently celebrated winning his third Inkwell award, says of the event. “We’ll be taking over The Five Lamps [pub] after too, with the pizza truck making a rare Sunday afternoon appearance.
“Getting genuine industry legends – and DC’s former Editor-in-Chief no less! – to appear for a Derby-based signing in Forbidden Planet is really exciting and very special for me. I love my hometown, which often gets a bad rap (not least from locals) but actually has a massive heart and much to recommend it.
