The team at London’s Gosh! store were super impressed with A Profound Waste of Time Magazine (APWOT) when they first stocked the computer game covering publication last year.
“Intelligently written and lavishly illustrated (often by some of the world’s best cartoonists) it’s a real feast, far from a waste of your time,” they enthuse.
Tonight, Friday 8th November 2024, to celebrate the new issue and mark the launch of their next Kickstarter for Issue 5, Gosh! will be hosting a launch party at their shop, from 7.00 – 9.00pm.
A Profound Waste of Time is an award winning independent magazine that celebrates games as an art form. Each issue plays host to a rich variety of voices from inside and outside the videogame industry, interwoven with stunning bespoke imagery from leading illustrators and artists.
Editorially discerning and beautifully designed, the magazine serves to celebrate gaming culture and discussion.
Head to Gosh!, hang out with other gamers and cartoonists and pick up the latest issue tonight.
AWWOT 5 will include features such as Margaret Robertson interviewing Unicorn Overlord’s director, Takafumi Noma, and lead game designer Wataru Nakanishi about how their game’s recent success crowns several decades of interesting work by its developer, VanillaWare; and Simon Parkin speaks to Yoot Saito about the evolution and development of the beloved and iconic Dreamcast cult classic Seaman.
Kat Bailey investigates the development of the revolutionary RPGs Suikoden and Suikoden II, and the legacy of their designer, the late Yoshitaka Murayama; and Ellie Gibson recounts the story of how she became the PowerWash Simulator Guinness World Champion, and the strange allure of the videogame World Record.
