If you’re a Strontium Dog fan who missed out on Fish Collectibles hugely successful Kickstarter to produce a limited run of officially licensed statues of the beloved character, there’s still time to grab one before they’re gone for good.
Sadly, disagreement between the company and copyright holders Rebellion has forced creator Alan Fisher to drop the price of the remaining figures, based on the character created by writer John Wagner and artist Carlos Ezquerra, from £130 to £75, as he seeks to sell his stock as soon as possible.
Comics Beat recently reported Fish Collectibles had failed to come to an agreement with Rebellion over inclusion of the figure in listings in the official 2000AD web shop.
As a result, the company has slashed the price of their Strontium Dog 1:6 statue as Alan tries to liquidate his entire stock.
Strontium Dog was created by writer John Wagner and artist Carlos Ezquerra for the short-lived Starlord comic back in 1978, jumping to 2000AD when the two titles merged. He went on to have many adventures in the weekly comic, available in collection.
A fourth collection, featuring the stories “The Kid Knee Caper” and “The Killing” and “The Moses Incident”, is due for release next April.
