Immediate Media has launched the first LEGO CHIMA branded magazine, LEGO Legends of Chima, a title aimed at 7 to 11 year-old children which will feature exclusive LEGO cover mounts.

Out now, the four-weekly magazine takes readers on a journey through the exciting fantasy world of Chima, which has become a battleground for the eight animal tribes that inhabit it.

LEGO Legends of Chima uses striking LEGO imagery and design and will be packed with comics telling the ‘Legends of Chima’ story. Plus there are puzzles, quizzes, challenges, facts about the tribes, competitions as well as features showcasing LEGO toy products such as their vehicles going head-to-head in battle.

Every month, LEGO Legends of Chima will carry a limited edition, high quality original LEGO covermount that cannot be bought anywhere else. The launch issue comes with an Ewar figurine and eagle cannon.

Produced by Immediate’s award-winning youth and children’s editorial team, the magazine retails at £3.25 with the launch supported not only by a consumer marketing campaign but also bespoke branded Point Of Sale packs for the top 7500 independent stores and major retail multiples.

The magazine has already been well received by retailers who have instantly recognised the strength of the LEGO brand and the title has secured strong listings in stores.

Martin Stahel, Publisher of Immediate Media Co’s Pre-teen titles, said: “Producing this exciting new title has been great fun and it will fit together perfectly with our pre-teen portfolio. This interactive magazine offers great value for fans of this iconic toy and the fact that LEGO Chima is the second biggest new toy property in this year’s entire toy market is an encouraging sign that it will be flying off the shelves.”

Natalie Barnes, Editor of LEGO Legends of Chima magazine adds: “Building on fans’ love for creative play, we’re transporting the reader into the Chima universe, where they learn all about their favourite characters, Speedorz and games. LEGO is synonymous with trust, and we’re hoping that this brilliant magazine will encourage our readers to take more of an active role in the natural world – so parents will approve too!

• LEGO Legends of Chima magazine is priced at £3.25 and is available at all major retailers and independents around the UK
