Liam Sharp’s StarHenge returns at Image Comics

Writer/artist Liam Sharp returns with an all-new, epic sci-fi/fantasy adventure set within his Eisner Award nominated StarHenge universe. The four issue miniseries, StarHenge Book Two: A Kiss for Atticus, will launch in July from Image Comics.

StarHenge offers a sweeping and complex new take on Arthurian legend where Merlin stands at the center of a war that will decide humanity’s fate. What if the legend of Merlin was born in the distant future?

A Kiss for Atticus, a breathtaking new chapter in the time-hopping saga will also feature exciting variant covers by Mike Perkins, Barry Kitson, Tony Parker, Al Davison, Alison Sampson, HJ Beggars Bliss, Ben Stone, and Matylda McCormack-Sharp.

In StarHenge Book Two: A Kiss for Atticus, Amber, Daryl and Merlin appear stranded in strangely familiar realms, without any real sense of who they are or how they got there. Will they be able to find each other, and solve the mystery of their surreal captivity?

“StarHenge has always been more than just a time-and-realm-hopping fantasy series,” said Sharp, talking about the epic sci-fantasy saga, which is based on the legend of Merlin. “It’s about creativity, the medium of comics, and telling stories. But it’s also about finding our way when we feel lost.”

Plus, if you missed out first time around and want to start at the beginning of this saga, the Starhenge Book 1: The Dragon and the Boar trade paperback will be available this July at Local Comic Shops, independent bookshops, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, Indigo, and Waterstones.

“I’ll put this simply. You will not read a more beautiful, more terrifying, more transporting graphic novel this year, possibly this decade. Liam Sharp should be listed when giants are mentioned. You don’t consume StarHenge. StarHenge consumes YOU.” — Gail Simone

“Liam Sharp is a man on a mission; his ornate line-work and his love of art, comics and narrative have been a gift to us for decades. Now with his gorgeous painted series StarHenge, he generously expands on those gifts by pushing his muse, inviting us along and continuing to take no prisoners.” — Bill Sienkiewicz

Liam Sharp is an award-winning Anglo-American writer and artist, who has worked for all the major comic companies, but is primarily known for his more recent work at DC, where he drew the best-selling Wonder Woman: Rebirth series’s, ‘The Lies’ and ‘The Truth’ written by Greg Rucka, an issue of The Justice League – a Dark Knights Metal tie-in – written by Rob Venditti, and the acclaimed The Brave and the Bold: Batman and Wonder Woman series, which he also wrote. He had an epic 24 issue run drawing Green Lantern, scripted by the legendary Grant Morrison, and Batman: Reptilian for DC’s Black Label imprint, scripted by the great Garth ‘The Boys’ Ennis.

In addition to writing, illustrating and lettering the creator-owned series, StarHenge, for which he has been nominated for an Eisner Award for best painter/multimedia artist, Liam is currently writing and producing art for Spawn: The Dark Ages for Todd McFarlane and Image Comics.
