US publisher Living the Line Publishing is releasing UK In a Bad Way And Other Stories, a new 248-page compilation of comics by award-winning writer/artist James Harvey in November.
James Harvey has worked in film and television, designing concepts for Metal Gear Solid with Jordan Vogt-Roberts, and music videos for artists such as Run The Jewels. He also collaborated on an episode of Love, Death & Robots for Netflix. In the comics industry, he drew and co-wrote two issues of Doom Patrol with Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance, and co-wrote the graphic novel project Pete Townshend’s Life House with David Hine, featuring art by James and Max Prentis, by published by Image Comics.
UK In a Bad Way And Other Stories is the long-awaited first collection of comics and includes his graphic novella “UK In a Bad Way”, a riot of punk energy and razor-sharp satire, “Luigi Mode”, a prophetic dystopian farce, and “Masterplasty”, his scabrous sci-fi debut that tears apart the world of cosmetic self-perfection and self-destruction.

“The other stories go even harder – expect sex, rebellion, and corrosive social commentary,” the publisher cautions. “Do not get caught reading this in public unless you want people to think you’re cool.”
Featuring a Foreword by Italian comics legend Igort, also included is a backup strip by Brandon Graham.
UK In a Bad Way And Other Stories was published in Spanish by Underbrain Books, and this collection was released in French from Éditions Sarbacane last month and is out this month from Italian publisher Oblomov Edizioni.
Living the Line is a publisher of visually-spectacular graphic novels and comics, including the SMUDGE line of historic horror manga, founded in Autumn 2020 by artist Sean Michael Robinson.
