London’s Ramen Yokocho and digital pop star Hatsune Miku join forces for an exclusive collaboration

This September, London’s Ramen Yokocho is taking customers on a turquoise-tinted adventure with their exclusive collaboration with worldwide phenomenon, and the biggest digital pop star, Hatsune Miku (初音ミク).

Hatsune Miku is a Japanese music sensation, a 16-year-old blue-haired girl with a unique voice and prodigious energy, a phenomenon that stretches across concerts, anime, manga and more.

What makes her special is that she is not a human singer, but a virtual persona who uses a computer-generated voice and 3D graphics to perform on stage. With a repertoire entirely provided by individual creators, she is the first truly crowd-created virtual talent.

But being virtual doesn’t stop her from filling up concert halls, or teaming up with major artists like Lady Gaga and Pharrell Williams.

Internationally popular, with over 2.5 million followers on Facebook, the increasing demand for concerts overseas paved the way to Miku Expo, a world tour that has so far taken her from Indonesia to Los Angeles, New York and Shanghai, with a memorable TV stop at the David Letterman show.

In celebration of the star’s recent 16th birthday, Yokocho are offering an exclusive Miku inspired menu.

Highlights include MikuTonkotsu Ramen; with a rich 12-hour broth, BBQ pork belly, hosomen noodles, kikurage mushrooms, takana mustard, nitamago egg, nori seaweed and red ginger.

Complementing this, is a choice of a suitably sweet Melo-chrome Cream Soda, blueberry soda or blue chai latte before concluding with an inspired Yokocho specialty; the mochi donut ice cream stack, featuring an edible image of the star herself.

Yokocho provides the perfect setting for the twin-tailed diva, under a canopy of glowing lanterns, nostalgic neon street signs and a fitting j-pop soundtrack.

A line of Miku merchandise including two limited-edition Hatsune Miku X Yokocho tote bags will also be available at both venues as well as online.

The Hatsune Miku menu launches on the 5th September and will be available until the 10th October. The menu is priced at £23 for a main, dessert and drink of choice.
