14th Lyon BD Festival poster by Luke McGarry
This Tintin-style poster to promote the 14th Lyon BD Festival is by “Sad Chewie” artist Luke McGarry is great fun – how many characters slipped into the image can you recognise?
(Oh, and before any wag asks given this week’s events, yes parody is allowed under the new EU Copyright Directive legislation, which will be implemented in two years time).
Designer, 2D Animator and Illustrator Luke created it in the run up to the inaugural NCSFest in Huntington Beach, California, delivered in partnership with Lyon BD and the Kendal-based Lakes International Comic Art Festival in October. (He’s also created promotional art for NCSFest, too).
Lyon BD returns 8th – 9th June 2019 at the City Hall of Lyon, the Palais de la Bourse, as well as the many partner locations of the Festival.
