Nottingham Does Comics returns to Nottingham Writers’ Studio on Tuesday 14th November at 7.30pm with an event featuring Jade Sarson, Sally Jane Thompson and Myriad Editions publisher Corrine Pearlman, All of this introduced by the wonderful Josh Franks, on-line editor of INK Magazine.

Jade Sarsons graphic novel For the Love of God, Marie! (reviewed here) won the Myriad Editions’ First Graphic Novel Competition. She’ll be talking about how writing can help vent her desires and frustrations in a way only comics can.
Sally Jane Thompson has be rescheduled from NDC’s last meet. A writer/artist with work in publications from Oni Press, Dark Horse, The Phoenix and more, Sally will be discussing the importance of location in comics.
Corinne Pearlman is the creative director of Myriad Editions responsible for their graphic novels. Myriad’s titles include Darryl Cunnigham’s new book Graphic Science and Supercrash and Rumble Strip by Woodrow Phoenixamong other great titles and Corinne will be unravelling some of the mysteries behind publishing.

Nottingham Does Comics is a bi-monthly forum by and for anybody interested in reading, creating, publishing, selling or studying new work and new horizons in the comics medium. It is a platform where those curious about comics can explore and exchange ideas with established and aspiring practitioners, where the mainstream meets the indies, and where embryonic projects will be supported to find their wings.

NDC evenings feature two or three guest presentations designed to inspire, with plenty of time for Q&As, chat and being sociable. They are free events but a £2 donation will be appreciated.
