One Year On: How is Titan Comics Doctor Who range faring?

Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor: #10 - Main Cover

Almost one year on from launch, Titan’s Doctor Who comics range continues to perform strongly for the company, with estimated sales through comic shops continuing to be in the Top 300 comics, based on data gathered over on ICV2.com.

Although there’s been a drop off in sales as the titles have continued (perhaps having three Doctor Who comics is reducing the overall sale of each), the success of the range is a credit to the creators involved, the editorial team and the marketing for the titles, which includes a Doctor Who Comics Day coming up on Saturday 15th August to celebrate their Four Doctors title written by Paul Cornell and Neil Edwards, which will feature the launch of some exclusive Titan Doctor Who comics-related merchandise – T-shirts and mugs.

Here’s the estimated sales of each title to date, indicating the Eleventh Doctor had by far the best debut through mainly US comic shops.

At present, only Titan’s Doctor Who titles are in the Top 300 for the company. The project is also benefitting from collections of the monthly editions, on sale now, and the reprinting of published strips in the UK in Doctor Who Comic.
