The collected edition of Marvel Comics “Revolutionary War” limited series, is on sale this week (28th May), a story that revived many of the Marvel UK characters.
The series was created by Andy Lanning and Alan Cowsill and features art by a host of talent including Richard Elson, Gary Erskine and more, with covers by Mark Brooks and variants from many Marvel UK stalwarts, including Liam Sharp.
The series, which launched in January 2014, features art and stories from a great range of British comic creators, including some who got their first breaks into the comics business at Marvel UK.
The project was edited by Stephen Wacker.
Revolutionary War is set at an undefined point after the original Marvel UK stories published in the 1990s, and after the mysterious Illuminati-styled MyS-TECH organisation, were defeated in one Earth-shattering climactic battle.
In a parallel with the real world events at Marvel UK following the company’s collapse and absorption by Panini, S.H.I.E.L.D have crossed the Atlantic and Nick Fury has cherry-picked the heroes he wants to work with – such as Captain Britain and MI-13 – and S.H.I.E.L.D has shut down the rest.
But now, Marvel UK’s greatest heroes come together for the first time in 20 years to face a threat that could destroy the world!
A troubling vision in Darkmoor Castle portends the horrible truth: the sinister Mys-TECH organization has returned and, when their magical cloning experiments are discovered, Dark Angel and the Knights of Pendragon have no choice but to return to action.
Death’s Head comes face to face with Death’s Head II as they rally against Mys-TECH across time! The Supersoldiers take on Mys-TECH’s army of Psycho Wraiths! And from beyond space and time, Motormouth, Killpower and the Warheads join the fight!
The story features Captain Britain, Pete Wisdom, Union Jack, Dai Thomas and a host of British heroes from Marvel UK’s past, present and future.
