Robot Archie heads into the World of the Future

A second book charting the time travel adventures of Lion comic hero Robot Archie – Robot Archie and the World of the Future – is available to pre-order now from the Treasury of British Comics webshop, in both paperback or webshop-exclusive hardback editions – the latter featuring an all-new cover by artist Simon Williams, coloured by Jason Cardy.

Originally built by Professor C.R. Ritchie, the mechanical being known as Robot Archie was employed to battle injustices around the world. First published in Lion, Robot Archie’s adventures are now reprinted for the first time in English in over fifty years.

Together with the Professor’s nephew, Ted Ritchie and his best friend Ken Dale, Archie is travelling in a temperamental time-machine called ‘The Castle.’ Desperate to get back to their own time, the trio land in the middle of a future alien invasion. Can Archie defeat the sinister Krulls on his own?

Robot Archie – The World Of The Future due for release on Wednesday 10th September 2025, features the fifteen-part adventure first published in Lion in early 1969 featuring art by Ted Kearon, the story credited to E George Cowan.

This volume also includes a one-off story which finds Archie face-to-face with another major Lion character, The Spider, The King of Crime, first published in the 1980 Lion Holiday Special.

One of the highlights of the new Treasury of British Comics Annual was the new “Robot Archie” strip by Paul Grist, Simon Williams and Jason Cardy, so it’s great to see the latter providing the new exclusive collection cover.
