SHIFT Presents… Pulp! celebrating best of British indie comics

A smashing-looking anthology of indie British comics, SHIFT Presents… Pulp! goes on sale next week in a hardback deluxe version format, followed by newsstand release in July.

Published by the team behind the SHIFT anthology, SHIFT Presents… Pulp! is a call back to old black and white UK comics, featuring strips by Chris Geary, John Charles, Tom Newell, Rob Jones and more.

Art amended for wider consumption

“We wanted to make a little ‘catalogue’ of some indie titles we love… so started compiling this, and got a bit carried away!” says publisher Adrian Clarke.

Bursting at the seems at 160 pages, SHIFT Presents… Pulp!features full chapters of varying genres, and interviews with the creators so you can get to know more about them and their creations – but still as affordable as possible.

Produced in A5, black and white, running to over 130 pages of strip and eleven pages of interviews, the newsstand edition cost £7.99.

The more “deluxe version” features colour strips and will be on sale soon, offered in a larger format, and in hardback, only available from the SHIFT store.

“About two thirds of the strip pages are colour and converted for greyscale for the main release, the rest were made in black and white,” Adrian notes.
