Ireland’s first Academy dedicated solely towards the Sequential Arts, TASQ Art (Tallaght Academy of Sequential Art), has just launched its own podcast, Creator In Conversation.
“As we approach our first anniversary, tumultuous events in the current geo-political sphere have made it difficult for the Academy to find a consistent and organic audience in the chaos that is social media in the 21st century,” says TASQ Art founder, Eoin McAuley.
“In order to reach our core audience and consolidate the work that we have done so far, every panel and masterclass from 2024 is being compiled into a new Podcast Series; ‘Creator In Conversation’.”
Diving deep into the world of comic book creation with some of the industry’s leading experts, the bumper first episode, available now via Spotify and YouTube, was recorded back in August 2024 as part of Dublin Comic Con before a live audience.
Featured in conversation are Ruairí Coleman, a rising artist at Marvel Comics currently working on Captain Marvel; Ellie Wright, a professional colourist with extensive experience at Archie Comics and other major publishers; Colm Griffin, a versatile comic book and animation professional recently involved with Power Rangers; and Danny Earls, an emerging artist working on the Hulk series for Marvel.
Also included is a chat with Gary Moloney, a writer and editor known for his work with Limit Break Comics and translating Flash Gordon strips into Irish; and Paul Bolger, a writer with an intriguing project inspired by a local legend in Waterford The Children of L.I.R.. Paul is accompanied by Author and Publisher Robert Curley.
“Sadly,” Eoin notes, “the great Richmond Clements who collaborated with Paul on this project passed away in late 2024 after this episode was recorded. He leaves behind a magnificent legacy in the independent comics press scene across Ireland and the UK.”
“Not everything will be included in the podcast, as we will endeavour to preserve Q&A for live participants in-class only,” Eoin notes.

Upcoming episodes include interviews with the co-creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Kevin Eastman, 2000AD writer Michael Carroll, and artist and colourist Triona Farrell, whose credits extend across work for DC Comics, Marvel, and more.
Nevertheless, there’s more than enough to enjoy in this first episode, the interviews split into three parts and running to almost two hours of informative comic creator-focused chat.
