The third issue of the A5 horror zine from the makers of The General Witchfinders Podcast has arrived.

With a cover from the brilliant Felt Mistress, General Witchfinders ‘Zine Issue 3 offers 76 pages of fresh nightmares, uncanny folklore, and eerie nostalgia from the long running podcast, launched “during the Great Covid Plague of the 2020s, when we, Ross, Jon and James, three old friends, kids of the 1980s and teens of the 1990s … decided to record our chats about the strange and spooky world of British horror.”

“The show is our excuse to get together and talk about Hammer and Amicus, Nigel Kneale, M.R. James, The Wicker Man, Ghostwatch, and the many odd corners of British film and television that probably warped us as kids,” we’re told. “Each episode drifts between proper discussion, half-remembered trivia, and whatever else pops into our heads.
“Someone once wrote about us, ‘There are some great Hammer and Amicus historical deep-dive podcasts out there, and if those shows are The Pentangle, then this show is The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band.’ We’ll take that.”
This issue of the General Witchfinders ‘Zine comes packed: frozen horrors, suburban dread, and demonic distortion. There are haunted gardens, skeletal visitations, and a nostalgic tour through the dark corners of 1980s and 1990s children’s TV, too.
You’ll also find interviews with indie horror creators, retro pixel nightmares to photographers and artists reimagining the uncanny through lens and thread. A love letter to the strange, the spectral, and the slightly silly, all from the team behind your favourite British horror podcast…
