Following up on our review of the The Spirit of Will Eisner exhibition currently running at the Musée Thomas Henry in Cherbourg, France, comes news that Will Eisner’s former assistant, Benjamin Herzberg, will be giving a presentation to round out its run.
Benjamin Herzberg will give a 90-minute presentation about Eisner’s remarkable career in graphic novels, offering many first-hand insights, having served as Eisner’s assistant for his last two graphic novels, Fagin the Jew and The Plot, and has collected Eisner’s art and memorabilia for decades, and also served on the advisory committee of the Will Eisner Week.
Born and raised in Paris, France, by day he is Program Lead, Private Sector Engagement for Good Governance (PSGG) at the World Bank Institute in Washington, DC, but has been involved with graphic arts for many years, having been a publisher, authored children books, worked on educational comics.
Benjamin’s talk is part of the line-up for Cherbourg’s Immobile Voyageurs pop culture festival, running 27th – 29th August 2021, which also includes a street art exhibition, book fair and cosplay contest.
At present, we don’t know if this will be simulcast, but will add a link to when or if available.
