Chinbeard Books have created a small microsite to promote their Look-In “The Tomorrow People” collection project, showing how the scans from the magazines look against the original art they have been generously supplied by numerous collectors for the upcoming books.
As we previously reported, 2023 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the visionary television science-fiction series, The Tomorrow People, and series creator and writer, Roger Price, has teamed up with Chinbeard Books and Oak Tree Books are releasing a number of tie-in books, including collections of the Look-In strips drawn by Mike Noble and John M. Burns.
“Original art now outweighs scanned magazine copy in Volume One, with even more offered art on the way,” say the team.
“We hope you enjoy these examples.”
The difference is evident, even in these online samples, colours less saturated despair the contemporary superiority of Look-in’s glossy printing over many other weekly comics of the time. It’s great to see how much effort is going into this project, especially given the price of the books, which is high due to a variety of factors – licensing costs, print run, high page count among them.
