Superman Sold: The BBC reports that for months, a seven foot Superman has been standing in the window of a Curiosity Classics in Great Harwood, Lancashire, drawing comic and movie fans to stop and admire the promotional figure. Bought as “a bit of a laugh” the figure, which was originally used to promote the 2013 film Man of Steel, has now been sold to a local collector. But what will replace this popular draw? Co-owner Paul Youds is seeking suggestions.


Make Mine Manga! a free exhibition for anyone curious about manga as well as the avid fan has just begun a new run at Macclesfield Library ahead of Macc-Pow! this weekend. Drawn from material from the Kyoto Manga Museum, it was originally devised by Paul Gravett for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival (LICAF), comic publisher and author of Manga: 60 Years Of Japanese Comics.

In the exhibition, explore how these comics evolved first in Japan and how their brilliant creators continue to expand the medium. Black Mirror San Junipero: Exclusive Stonewall Edition: To celebrate ten years of San Junipero, Twisted Comics have partnered with Stonewall, the UK’s leading LGBTQ+ rights charity.
Based on the Black Mirror story San Junipero by Charlie Brooker, Twisted Comics previously published a graphic novel based on the story that follows Yorkie, a shy newcomer, and Kelly, a carefree partygoer, who fall in love in a nostalgic seaside town that turns out to be not exactly a normal town…
Now, in partnership with Stonewall, they are releasing a special edition of the San Junipero comics, with a portion of proceeds going to support Stonewall’s work championing equality, inclusive education, and workplace inclusion.
This special edition also features a foreword Lisa Power and Simon Blake, Co-founder of Stonewall and Chief Executive of Stonewall.
