A few years ago, Anderson Entertainment commissioned 2000AD and Halo artist Ian Richardson to draw some special Captain Scarlet art for a 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Coin. Ian, whose latest 2000AD strip launches this week, obliged with gusto!


The coins sold out rapidly, but we wonder if a 60th anniversary re-release might be on the cards in 2027? (Meanwhile, check out their current Captain Scarlet merchandise range here).
“This one was a completely fan boy fuelled geek out for me,” Ian said at the time. “Love me some Captain Scarlet!” And we love the result!

Ian Richardson is well known for his work for 2000AD, Noble Causes and Halo. He recently announced his retirement from comics, but not before completing a new 2000AD tale, and a set of special covers for Scratch Comics new crowdfunded dark fantasy, Spearpoint, created with Mark Farmer.
“Far Below Eden” launched in 2000AD 2438 today (Wednesday 25th June 2025), a Tharg’s 3riller tale told across three episodes, delivering one complete, self-contained story, written by Alan Kerr, coloured by Pippa Bowland, lettered by Simon Bowland.


Set in the far future. Earth is finally dying after centuries of pollution and stripping it of its resources, and mankind must find a new world to call its own. A potential home has been discovered in Eden, but first the native species must be removed before humanity can move in…
