Comic Heroes 27 is out now in UK newsagents and editor Will Salmon describes it as “the best issue yet”. Spread across 148 fine pages of print, the X-Men are on the cover, and there’s a preview of “Apocalypse Wars” with contributions from creators Cullen Bunn, Jeff Lemire and Dennis Hopeless, alongside a rundown of the 20 best X-Men stories of all time, as picked by author Carl Anka – and a preview of Civil War 2.
Also in the issue: Paul Dini and Eduardo Risso talk about about Dark Night: A True Batman Story, and Stephen Jewell interviews Charles Soule; @graGraham Kibble-White takes a look at Mark Millar’s comics’ debut, The Saviour, complete with art from the unpublished Issue 7; director and Doctor Who star Noel Clarke delivers the low-down on his x-rated comics debut, The Troop, published by Titan Comics and its forthcoming sequel
But there’s more: Rat Queen‘s artist Tess Fowler shares her favourite work from subversive fantasy series; the creators of indie hit Beast Wagon tell Comic Heroes about their darkly funny series, and there’s a brand new, exclusive two-page short story in the issue; Overrun’s Andi Ewington is interviewed and, for comic creators, there’s the third part of Mike Garley’s ongoing Creating Indie Comics feature, this issue looking at crowdfunding.
Plus, there’s interviews with Jill Thompson, Brian Stelfreeze, George Mann, Eric Stephenson; and opinion from Leah Moore and Marc Makes Comics.
On sale now in all good news agents, you can buy a copy here if your local WH Smiths is too crap to stock it.
