2023 Harvey Awards nominees announced

The nominees for the 2023 Harvey Awards, honouring the best comics and adaptations of the past year, have been announced.

Harvey Awards

The Harvey Awards are one of the American comic industry’s oldest and most prestigious awards. Recognising outstanding achievement in multiple categories, the Harvey’s have been a fixture of the comic industry since 1988.

Spotlighting comic books, graphic novels, manga and more, the Harvey’s are industry awards selected by a full body of comic and publishing professionals.

Drawn & Quarterly and Image Comics received four nominations each in the Book of the Year category, while First Second, Viz Media, and Netflix respectively dominated Best Children’s or Young Adult Book, Best Manga, and Best Adaptation.

Marvel’s Moon Knight was nominated for Best Adaptation, despite releasing before last year’s winner, Ms. Marvel.

– “Mimosa” by Archie Bongiovanni (Abrams ComicArts/Surely)
– “Public Domain” Vol. 1 by Chip Zdarsky (Image Comics)
– “Who Will Make The Pancakes” by Megan Kelso (Fantagraphics)

Digital Book of the Year:

• Voting is now open until 1st September 2023, and the winners will be announced at the New York Comic Con on Friday, 13th October. The year’s Harvey Hall of Fame inductees will be revealed at a later date
