Anderson Entertainment trails “Stingray: Operation Icecap” audio book ahead of August release

Stingray - Operation Icecap

Anderson Entertainment has released a trailer for their latest audiobook, Stingray: Operation Icecap by John Theydon, presented as a brand new full-cast audiobook, available on an official and exclusive four-CD set, featuring a specially assembled brand-new cast.

Due for release as a hardback book and audio book, the story is based on one of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson’s earliest Supermarionation series, first broadcast in 1964, made in colour, a series that centred around the adventures of a future submarine crew aboard Stingray, working for the World Aquanaut Security Patrol, an international undersea defence organisation based at Marineville.

In this adventure, the Stingray crew discover an ancient diving bell that leads them on an expeditionary voyage through the freezing waters of Antarctica to the land of a lost civilisation.

Close on the heels of Troy Tempest and the pride of the World Aquanaut Security Patrol is the evil undersea ruler Titan. Ahead of them are strange creatures who inhabit underground waterways and an otherworldly force with hidden powers strong enough to overwhelm even Stingray’s defences.

Stand by for action as the mighty Stingray launches again in this classic story!

Stingray: Operation Icecap is a brand-new full-cast audio adaptation by Ben Page, based on the 1965 novel Stingray by SF author John W. Jennison, writing as John Theydon. The original edition was published by Armada in 1965, illustrated by Peter Archer, and was followed by Stingray and the Monster.

Featuring music from Benji Clifford (Sherlock Holmes, Doctor Who: Stranded) and with a cast including Marc Silk (Thunderbirds Are Go, Scooby-Doo), Jules de Jongh (Space: 1999, Thomas and Friends), Wayne Forester (First Action Bureau, Horrid Henry) and Nicholas Briggs (Doctor Who), this audio adventure stays true to the style and spirit of the 1964 TV series.

Ahead of the Stingray release, Anderson Entertainment are also releasing Five Star Five: John Lovell and the Zargon Threat toward the end of this month, adapted by Richard James from an unmade 1978 film script. Read by Robbie Stevens (New Captain Scarlet, Bernice Summerfield), this epic audiobook adventure takes place on the planet Kestra, where peace is threatened by Zargon forces – and only one team can save them…
