London’s Cartoon Museum is hosting a very special late-night look at the original artwork of Sydney Jordan on Thursday 21st October – the veteran comic creator renowned for his creation of the newspaper comic strip “Jeff Hawke” for the Daily Express.
For one night only, the Museum will be showing “Jeff Hawke” original comic strip artworks, a strip often regarded as one of the most important science-fiction comics ever released.
Chat to resident expert, Steve Marchant, and collector Alastair Hunter. Plus, you may even be lucky enough to meet the legend that is Sydney Jordan himself.
There’s going to be a phenomenal amount of original artwork there,” a spokesperson for the event told downthetubes, “offering a great chance to see many strips from the 1950s onwards, including some unpublished and also some drawings too.”
Entry also includes admission to all exhibitions and copies of the brilliant Illustrators Magazine Sydney Jordan special edition for sale in the shop, if you haven’t bought one already, for some inexplicable reason.
