As Albert Moy Collectables Original Art, he is also the original artwork sales representative for some of the greatest comic book artists in the industry today, his website bringing their artwork to fans and collectors.. Steve Ditko (1927-2018) was an American comics artist and writer best known as the artist and co-creator, with Stan Lee, of the Marvel Comics superheroes Spider-Man and Doctor Strange. His original art for Marvel Comics has sold, legally, at auction for eye watering amounts, including, in 2022, the Splash Page 1 Original Art for Amazing Spider-Man #18, from the same era, which fetched $432,000 through a sale by Heritage Auctions. His splash page for Amazing Spider-Man #37 sold the same year for $336,000.
Sadly, this is not the first time Albert has been the target of art thieves. Back in 2007, the company had some artwork stolen from them at the Chicago Comicon. However, thanks to the diligent efforts of Michael Finn/help4creators and Heritage Auctions, ten out of eleven pieces previously listed as stolen have now been safely recovered and returned.

This does bring a wry smile considering that so many key, valuable original art pieces from the likes of Ditko and Kirby were stolen in the first place!
In my opinion, since so much Silver Age Marvel and DC art is ‘hot’ goods of dubious providence, that it’s a dirty business.
