Lille Comic Festival features strong British line up in December

Lille Comic Festival 2014 Guests

Aiming to promote US and British comics in France, this year’s Lille Comic Festival  (6th – 7th December 2014) has an impressive line up of guests, with Greg Rucka headlining as Guest of Honour.

British guests include Ian Gibson, Al Ewing, Ben Willshire, Boo Cook, Leigh Gallagher, Simon Davis, Kev Hopgood and Ian Edginton and some of them have their very own ‘ident cards’ as part of the Festival’s promotional activities.

The Festival is organised by association Art Themis, created to promote Anglo-Saxon (US and UK) comics. It organizes conferences, exhibitions, special events, book signings throughout the year in partner libraries, offering master classes to promote the medium, but the main activity is the annual Festival itself, which began back in 2006.

Since 2007, the Seth Fisher Award has been awarded each year to a guest for their work in comics: past winners include Alan Davis, Simon Bisley and Frank Quitely.
