London Resort Company Holdings, the developer behind the proposed multi-billion pound London Paramount Entertainment Resort in North Kent, which could see attractions devoted to Doctor Who as well as Star Trek as part of its offering, has just completed a round of public consultation events in the two towns local to the site, Dartford and Gravesham, offering visitors to the exhibitions  the opportunity to view the emerging masterplan, a range of proposed transport options and a scaled model of the resort.

The company has also released fur stunning new artworks offering a vision of how the Park might look – if we can find out who drew them, we’ll give the artist a deserved mention.

This latest round of consultation formed the fourth stage of community engagement on the resort and will help the project team to hear the public’s views on the plans that will be submitted to the Secretary of State later this year.

Over the past ten months the project team has held three stages of public consultation and met with over 4,900 local residents, businesses and community representatives. Most recently a series of workshop events were held in order to further discussions on key elements of the proposals including transport, infrastructure, environment, heritage, tourism, and employment.

Once complete, the world class entertainment resort plans to bring up to 27,000 jobs to the area and boast a great variety of exciting rides and attractions themed around the film and television programmes of Paramount Pictures Corporation, the BBC (as we reported last year) and Aardman Animations (the creators of Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep).

The British Film Institute joined the project in March to provide strategic cultural counsel.

The park’s planned Entertainment Resort will contain a number of themed zones, with exciting rides and attractions for families, children and the more adventurous thrill-seeking visitor.

At the heart of the Entertainment Resort will be the Entertainment City, providing a wide range of indoor, covered and open-air experiences as well as a variety of cafes, bars and restaurants, and which will be able to host a number of events each year as well as offering a daily  ‘Paramount and Friends Carnival’.

London West End quality productions are being considered for the park’s theatres, indoor or outdoor venues that could potentially showcase Paramount films, BBC and Aardman productions and provide a stage for live comedy acts and concerts.

If plans are approved, the heart of the Entertainment Resort will open to the public in Easter 2020, with additional rides and attractions scheduled to be unveiled soon after in the following years.
